Recovery/Rehab

Physical therapy rehab is a process that helps patients recover from an injury or disability. Our goal is to help you regain strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and function. You may need to go through several treatments before you are fully rehabilitated. Physical therapists use various techniques such as massage, heat treatment, strengthening exercises, and education on how to avoid further injury.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment that focuses on releasing tension in the muscle by inserting needles into the muscle. It has been shown to be as effective as other treatments for chronic low back pain and may work better than those treatments for some patients. Dry needling is also used to treat trigger points, which are areas of hypersensitive tissue where there is increased nerve activity and decreased blood flow. Painful knots or nodules often form around these trigger points and can cause referred pain elsewhere in the body, such as headaches or hip pain. Dry needling helps relieve these points by increasing blood flow and decreasing inflammation at the site of injury.

Reduces pain, eliminates trigger points, restores function

Used to treat muscles, tendons, and ligaments

Can stimulate the body's natural healing process

Most beneficial when paired with other interventions

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a highly effective form of therapy. It involves using small cups to create suction on the skin, which may cause blood flow to increase and muscles to relax. It has been used for treating various ailments, including pain relief, boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation and promoting overall health. Cupping Therapy has been used among athletes who wanted their body parts to recover from injuries and pain quickly. It’s believed that the suction from the cups is able to pull toxins out of the body through pores, which also helps to boost blood circulation. This process may have a detoxifying effect that helps the body remove wastes and reduce inflammation.

Plastic or silicone cups placed on the body to create suction

benefits include loosening tight muscles, relaxing the nervous system, decreasing pain

looks uncomfortable but is not painful- will leave marks

Running Video Analysis

Running video analysis is a technique that is used in sports training to analyze aspects of running form with an eye to improving performance. It has been found that when a runner’s stride length, arm swing, and arm pull reach their maximum potential there is a better chance for an improvement in their running performance.

first session includes musculoskeletal exam, run on treadmill while recorded, discussion of footwear

a special program is then used to analyze your running form and a corrective plan is created

second session goes over analysis and plan including exercises

Scraping Therapy

Scraping Therapy is a type of physical therapy that has shown to be effective in improving the range of motion in patients with limited mobility. It is also noted for its ability to help promote healing by stimulating muscle tissue and breaking down scar tissue, which are both factors that contribute to stiffness. It typically involves using an instrument called a scraper, which looks like a hand tool with two metal blades attached to it. These blades are then dragged across the skin in order to scrape away layers of dead skin cells on the surface and stimulate blood flow underneath them. The scraping action helps reduce pain and discomfort while promoting healing because it removes harmful substances from the body, encourages new cell growth, and reduces scar tissue.

officially known as instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization

massage tools are used on the skin with varying pressure

benefits include loosening tight muscles/knots, relaxing the nervous system, and decreasing pain
